Daikin fan coil error codes

The codes below are compiled from the manufacturer's user and service documentation. Codes may vary by model, controller and board version; the safest approach is to send us a photo of the code on your unit's display.

FWT wall-mounted, FWC cassette, FWF and FWG series (wired controller display)

When an abnormality occurs, the wired controller shows the error code by flashing it.

Code / indication	Meaning	What to do
E1	Room (ambient) temperature sensor fault: open or short circuit	Check the sensor connector and cable; replace the sensor if necessary.
E2	Water pipe / coil temperature sensor fault	Measure the sensor connection and resistance; replace the sensor if necessary.
E4	Water temperature not suitable (weak)	Check the chiller or boiler supply water, the valve and circulation.
E5	Water temperature incorrect	Check the water supply, the 3-way valve and the heating/cooling mode selection.
E6	Drain (condensate) pump fault (cassette)	Clean the drain line and float switch, and test the pump.
E8	Hardware error: button on the board short-circuited	The display or control board must be replaced.
E9	No feedback from the indoor unit fan motor (FWT)	Check the fan motor connector; replace the motor or the board.

European series (FWV, FWL, FWM, FWZ, FWR, FWS, FWB, FWD) – FWEC control board

This series has no numbered error codes. If the water temperature does not suit the mode (e.g. lukewarm water in cooling mode), the mode symbol on the controller flashes. Fix: check the chiller/boiler and the water temperature.

Common thermostat warnings

Warnings shown on Siemens RDF series thermostats, which are often used with Daikin fan coils:

Indication	Meaning	What to do
AL1	External fault input X1 active (e.g. drain alarm)	Check the device connected to input X1.
AL2	External fault input X2 active	Check the device connected to input X2.
FIL	Filter cleaning reminder	Clean the filter and reset the warning.
Dew (condensation) symbol	Condensation detected in the room, cooling stopped	Check humidity and water temperature.
