Aermec fan coil error codes

The codes below are compiled from the manufacturer's user and service documentation. Codes may vary by model, controller and board version; the safest approach is to send us a photo of the code on your unit's display.

VMF system (FCZ, FCZI, FCXI, VED, Omnia) – VMF-E4X controller display

Code / indication	Meaning	What to do
AL 1	No communication between the controller and the fan coil thermostat (E0/E1)	Check the communication cable, polarity and power supply.
AL 2	Inverter (EC fan) board fault	Check the LEDs on the inverter board on the fan coil.
AL 3	Room sensor in the controller faulty	The system switches to the sensor on the fan coil; the controller needs servicing.

FCXI inverter board

The board has alarm and power LEDs. Alarm types: high temperature, overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, overload, safety. If an alarm lasts longer than 1.5 minutes it latches; reset it by switching the power off and on again.

Common thermostat warnings

Warnings shown on Siemens RDF series thermostats, which are often used with Aermec fan coils:

Indication	Meaning	What to do
AL1	External fault input X1 active (e.g. drain alarm)	Check the device connected to input X1.
AL2	External fault input X2 active	Check the device connected to input X2.
FIL	Filter cleaning reminder	Clean the filter and reset the warning.
Dew (condensation) symbol	Condensation detected in the room, cooling stopped	Check humidity and water temperature.
